ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Now in its 14th edition, the ICFF Youth Festival is Canada’s leading educational film program for students from Grades 1 to 12.
Presented every spring, it welcomes thousands of students from across the GTA for screenings that spark meaningful conversations about culture, identity, and global citizenship.
Each film is accompanied by curriculum-linked educational materials, while Q&As and workshops allow students to explore cinema as both an art form and a tool for learning, creativity, and connection.

The ICFF Youth Festival inspires the next generation through the power of cinema.
Our mission is to use film as a tool for learning, cultural discovery, language development, and creative expression. By connecting students with stories from around the world, the festival fosters critical thinking, empathy, and an appreciation for diversity — while introducing youth to careers in the film and creative industries.

Films selected to reflect diverse cultures, languages, and social themes, aligned with the Ontario curriculum in areas such as social studies, language learning, and media literacy.

Pre- and post-screening lesson plans created by Ontario Certified Teachers, designed to spark discussion, critical thinking, and language development.
💬 Interactive Q&As with Filmmakers and Artists
Students engage with directors, actors, and creators through live or virtual sessions that explore storytelling, creativity, and real-world social issues.
🌍 Cultural Discovery
An opportunity to explore the world’s cultures, traditions, and values through cinema, promoting empathy, inclusion, and respect for diversity.

Where are the screenings held?

All screenings will be at Cineplex Cinemas Yorkdale: 3401 Dufferin St, Toronto, ON M6A 2T9

How do I book?

Please fill this form: HERE

What is the payment policy?

– Once you fill out and submit the below form, your booking is held for 1-week until the full payment is received.
– After the 1-week mark you will be contacted via email/phone to provide payment. If the full payment is not received, the booking will be released. You will be notified before hand.
– Bookings received after the date of April 3rd will not be permitted the 1-week holding period, and the full payment is required at the time of booking.

How long will the booking be held without any payment?

We offer a holding period of 1 week (7 days), if needed, from the date the booking was made should you need to collect more exact numbers. 1 week from when the booking was made, a 50% deposit will be required to secure your booking.

Will I be contacted to confirm the booking?

You will be contacted and informed that your booking was received. After the 1-week mark, you will be contacted again to provide the credit card payment.

When is the remaining fee required?

The remaining fee will be taken on the day of your screening or can be made prior by cheque, Credit Card (3% fee), or PayPal.

When are the final numbers required to be confirmed?

By April 3rd we require your final confirmed numbers of your group.

What are the prices for tickets?

Student Fee: $10 (HST Included) / Adult Fee: $14 (HST Included) – with every 20 students, 1 adult is free

Can I receive a refund should I need one?

If numbers should alter from the original booking, we will refund up to a maximum of 5 students.

What if I need to cancel the trip altogether?

March 27^th is the cut-off date to cancel your trip. Cancelling after April 3^rd will result in NO refund.

When should I arrive for the screening?

Please arrive 45 minutes before your screening time so you can be seated accordingly (First-come, first-serve)

Who do I speak to upon arrival?

Please have a teacher sign-in at the ICFF registration table. Please do not go to the Cineplex Ticket Counter.

Will there be concessions open?

No, concessionary is only available by pre-order ONLY. The teacher is be responsible for collecting the money from each student and providing ICFF with a cash sum on the day of the screening in exchange for coupons for each student to redeem at the counter.

What food and drink can I pre-order?

Small Popcorn & Bottled Drink ($15 flat).

Will all students from one group be seated together?

Yes, although seating arrangements will be on a first-come-first-served basis and we cannot seat you until your entire party is in attendance.
