PLOT : The Windermere Children is based on the true stories of children who survived the Holocaust. When German camps are liberated at the end of World War II, children are sent to other countries for rehabilitation — such as the UK. This life-affirming story follows Holocaust children adapting to their new home in England, while also making life-long bonds with fellow survivors. With an ensemble cast of characters, The Windermere Children follows several, moving accounts of redemption — presenting childrens ability to overcome past traumas and look forward to a promising future.

Michael Samuels. A British television director, producer and writer. He won the prestigious Royal Television Society award for Best Single Drama with his TV play The Curse of Steptoe (2008). He then directed the BAFTA-winning mini series Any Human Heart (2011) — which took home the prize for Best Drama Serial. Most recently, Samuels’ The Windermere Children was nominated for Best Single Drama at the BAFTA Awards.
