PLOT : Taking place in 1973 Naples, the story follows the tale of Peppino, a sensitive nine-years-old who has to move in with his Aunt and Uncle, Salvatore and Titina, due to the deteriorating condition of his mother’s depression. Peppino’s best friend and older cousin, Gennaro, who believes to be Superman, suddenly dies living Peppino alone. The young boy decides to recede into a fantasy world, rewriting his reality to bring Gennaro back to life. Thanks to this, Peppino is able to overcome the unexpected obstacles life throws at him, and face the strange and foreign world of adulthood.

Ivan Cotroneo. Ivan Cotroneo was born in Naples in 1968, Italy and after moving to Rome, in 1992, graduated with a degree in Scriptwriting from the Experimental Center of Cinematography. Cotroneo began working with Pappi Corsicato and wrote an episode titled ‘La stirpe di Iana’ for the film collection of The Vesuvians. Since then, Cotroneo has written for several Television productions and has worked with several big Italian directors and screenwriters, Maria Sole Tognazzi, Luca Guadagnino, and Ferzan Özpetek. Kryptonite! marks his directorial debut, followed by Il Natale della mamma imperfetta (2013), and One Kiss (2016).
