PLOT : Born in Fiume, Abdon Pamich grew up amid the upheaval of postwar events that would force his family into the Istrian-Dalmatian exodus, leaving their border hometown behind. Relocating to Italy, he rebuilt his life through discipline and determination, shaped by hardship and displacement. Through intense training and sacrifice, Pamich discovered race walking, a demanding sport that became his path forward. The film traces his journey from exile to athletic excellence, culminating in Olympic gold. Il marciatore tells the story of a man who, long before mastering race walking, first learned resilience, endurance, and the will to resist against adversity.

Alessandro Casale. An Italian director and assistant director working across film and television. He began his career in the industry as an assistant director before moving into directing for television drama, including the series Vostro onore (2022). Casale has built extensive experience across Italian productions, contributing to both narrative and technical aspects of filmmaking. Most recently, Casale directed the documentary Il marciatore, focusing on the life and legacy of Olympic race walker Abdon Pamich.
