PLOT : Based on the remarkably true story, Rosa Sauer fled Berlin and took refuge in a small Prussian village. One morning, Rosa is seized by SS soldiers and brought to Hitler’s hidden headquarters deep in the forest called the “Wolf’s Lair”. There, she joins a group of young women forced to taste every meal prepared for the Führer, to ensure it has not been poisoned. Twice a day, these women sit down together and risk their lives with every bite. The tasters slowly form alliances, friendships, and secret pacts. Rosa struggles at first to earn their trust, but when she finally breaks through their suspicion, she finds herself drawn to Lieutenant Ziegler, an SS officer, as this love threatens to undo everything. Based on Rosella Postorino’s novel, “Le assaggiatrici.”
