PLOT : In an effort to impress his visiting brother from Italy, Tullio Testa — a working class landscape contractor — attempts to impress him by appearing as a man of leisure. He turns the business over to his younger, favourite son Massimo — ultimately shunning his other son Joe, who has worked alongside him for years. When Massimo puts their business in jeopardy, a war erupts between father and sons — unravelling their façade and forever altering the dynamics within the family.

Vittorio Rossi. A Montréal-born playwright, actor, director and screenwriter. His Italian-Canadian centric plays have been produced throughout the United States and Canada. Vittorio Rossi’s The Chain was his first full length play — which opened to critical acclaim in 1988. By producing over ten plays in his decades-spanning career, Rossi has been a quintessential Italian voice on the Canadian stage. Rossi’s The Chain was followed by a sequel set thirty years after the original titled — Legacy: The Chain Part II.
