PLOT : After World War II, Marta, a single mother living in a rural village in Southern Italy, finds herself in an arranged marriage to a man she doesn’t love. Her life, however, takes an unexpected turn when she befriends the local homosexual, Lorenzo, who works as a wedding planner. Lorenzo introduces Marta to the hidden community of gays and lesbians who persist despite ossified prejudices and norms. Inspired by their resilience, Marta challenges the bigotry of the conservative town, embarking on a journey of self-discovery. Follow Marta as she finds her place in the world as a woman.

Cristiano Bortone. Cristiano Bortoneis more than just a screenwriter—he is also a director and producer. Active in filmmaking since 1990, he has directed commercials, documentaries, and short films. His debut feature, the romance drama Oasi, was screened at the 51st Venice International Film Festival. Bortone’s film Red Like the Sky won the David Giovani Award at the 2007 David di Donatello Awards. In 2006, he was nominated for Best Producer at the Nastri d’Argento, the Italian film critics' awards, for his work on Saimir by Francesco Munzi. Daniela Porto Daniela Porto is an emerging director who has gained recognition as the co-director of the Italian film Il Mio Posto È Qui (My Place Is Here).
