PLOT : Miriam Gordon lives in a fog of grief, quietly working at a downtown public library. Her world is small, ordered, and emotionally suspended—that is, until a burgeoning love affair coincides with the arrival of a series of oddly threatening letters. As Miriam navigates the thrills of new romance and the creeping unease of these mysterious messages, her carefully constructed and sheltered existence begins to crack open. What unfolds is a tense, emotionally layered journey that blurs the line between vulnerability and paranoia, forcing Miriam to confront the past she’s buried, the truths she’s avoided, and the uncertain future she’s only just beginning to imagine.
