PLOT : On the occasion of the 700 hundredth anniversary of Dante's death, a film crew visited the places of the author's exile to make a documentary on the life of the Supreme Poet during his long and suffered wandering around Italy. The film represents a journey through places, words, and characters to learn and further understand the works and the genius behind the father of the Italian language; and why not, to try to reveal a different Dante, a little less academic and more contemporary. A real journey that begins in the lands of Tuscany and leads the audience through Romagna and Liguria. The documentary is also a visionary journey that strives to stimulate new outlooks and interpretations of his poems through the analysis of the places and most significant verses of Dante’s work while sparking a refound passion and interest in the author. Fabrizio Bancale. He is an Italian screenwriter and director. Since a very young age, his interests and passion have always been divided between theatre and videomaking, with some touchpoints in the sparkling world of celluloid.Bancale took his first steps in cinema alongside directors like Pappi Corsicato and Andrea Bolognini. Following his early experiences, he decided to pursue his calling by writing and directing unique short films, several of which went on to win important awards across Italy.In the years, Bancale took interest in the language and visual storytelling of documentaries.
