Tracey Deer

Tracey Deer is a Mohawk screenwriter, film director, and newspaper publisher based in Kahnawake, Quebec. Her debut feature Beans received critical acclaim at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Deer was honoured with the prestigious TIFF Emerging Talent Award and chosen as one of Variety's 10 Screenwriters to Watch. A political activist, Deer has
also written and directed several award-winning documentaries for Aboriginal-run film and television production company, Rezolution Pictures.
