
Stéphane Freiss
Raised in the Paris region, Stéphane Freiss began studying history and English at the University of Paris-Nanterre, which he abandoned to study acting at the Yves Pignot course. In 1985 he graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique and then became a boarder at the Comédie-Française. After a first film with Emmanuelle Béart, Premiers désirs, he worked under the direction of Agnès Varda and Pierre Jolivet. In 1990, he played the supporting role in La Putain du roi with Timothy Dalton and then went on to make a series of comedies and dramas. In the 2000s, he alternated between cinema, theatre, which earned him several prizes
at the Nuit des Molières, and television films. He is known for Munich (2005), Welcome to the Sticks (2008) and Hereafter (2010).
