
Francesco Costabile
Francesco Costabile is an Italian director and screenwriter. His filmmaking journey began in 2001 with the short film La sua gamba (2001), winning second prize in the competition preview category at the Bellaria Film Festival. From there, Costabile went on to produce two more short films, and four documentaries notably L'abito e il volto -Incontro con Piero Tosi (2009) which won the audience award at the Biografilm Festival in 2010. He made In un futuro aprile (2019) with co-director Federico Savonitto, which won best film at the Asolo Art Film Festival and the Biografilm Festival and was a finalist at the 2021 Nastri d'Argento Awards. Costabile makes his directorial debut with the film Una femmina (2022) which has received two nominations for best non-original screenplay and best directorial debut for the 2022 David di Donatello Awards.
