Anita Aloisio

Anita Aloisio is a documentary filmmaker who obtained both her BA and Masters in Communication Studies at Concordia University in Montreal. She is widely recognized as one of only a few female Italian-Québécois Canadian filmmakers. Her films often revolve around issues of immigration, language, culture and politics relevant to Québécois and Canadian society. Her first documentary film Straniera Come Donna - A woman, a Stranger (2002) was co-produced with the Ministry of Immigration and the NFB and explored how social and cultural traditions influence the lives of women of Italian origin living in Québec.
