Alex Holmes

Alex Holmes is a multi-award-winning director, writer and producer. Most recently he has directed on The Rig for Amazon. Prior to this Alex produced and directed Maiden, a feature documentary that charts the inspirational story of Tracy Edwards, skipper of the first all-female sailing crew to enter the Whitbread Round the World Race in 1989. The documentary earned Alex a BAFTA nomination for Outstanding Debut by a British Director as well as a DGA Award nom for Outstanding Achievement in Documentary and the film won the National Board of Review award for Best Documentary. Alex is currently developing a narrative version of the film with Lucky Chap for Warners/HBO Max.
