Alessandro Gassmann, actor, director and screenwriter, is one of the most beloved and acclaimed figures in the Italian film scene today. He made his film debut at age 17 in Padre in Figlio (1982), which he co-wrote and co-directed with his father, the beloved Vittorio Gassman. Since then, Gassmann has appeared in countless films and directed three features films Razzabastarda (2012), Il Premio (2017) and Il silenzio grande (2021), based on the play of the same name written by Maurizio De Giovanni, which Gassmann also directed for the stage.
