Sergio Rubini was born in Grumo Appula, Italy in 1959 but quickly moved to Rome to study acting. He made hisbreak in 1985 in the Orsini film Figlio mio infinitamente caro. A few years later he appeared in Fellini's 1987 film Intervista. In 1989/90, Rubini made his directorial debut with the film La stazione, for which he was awarded both The Nastro d'Argento(Silver Ribbon) Award and the David di Donatello Award for Best Debut film. He has acted in famous Hollywood films No Country for Old Menand The Talented Mister Ripley.
