
Andrea Gropplero
Andrea Gropplero is an Italian producer, writer, and director. In 1988 he opened his own film production company Pidgin which produced Paolo Fiore Angelini’s film Paris, Dabar(2003) and Gropplero’s documentary film Comunismo Futuro(2017). The film analyzes communism in the 21stcentury using archives from Russia and Italy and their communist movements. Gropplero focuses largely on documentary film. His short film Quando l'Italia mangiava in bianco e nero(2015) takes an in-depth look at the eating and cooking traditions of Italians and how they have changed to constitute what is “good food”. His most recent documentaryIl colore della fatica(2021) follows the harrowing event that is the Tour of Italy.
