PLOT : "Song of the Fireflies" tells the inspiring origin story of the Loboc Children’s Choir. Founded in the 1980s by a passionate teacher, the choir's extraordinary singing talent quickly gained attention. Driven by their teacher’s unwavering determination, the children’s voices became a source of pride for the small town of Loboc and eventually the entire Philippines. As they rise to global fame, their enchanting performances continue to wow audiences around the world, showcasing the power of music, community, and the enduring spirit of a teacher’s love for his students. The film is a celebration of both the choir’s and the country's enduring legacy.
King Palisoc. is a Filipino director whose work spans film, music videos, and commercials. As a 2006 B.A. Communications graduate from Ateneo de Manila University, he has received numerous awards for his visual storytelling. His debut feature TANDEM was screened at festivals across Portugal, North America, and Asia. His music videos, created for artists like Zack Tabudlo and Rico Blanco, have been recognized by the Awit and NU Rock Awards. His second feature, KAMPON (2023), a horror drama, premiered at the Metro Manila Film Festival and won Best Editing. It also earned accolades at Fantasporto, WorldFest Houston, and Queens World Film Festival. He is currently a Director and Partner at This Side Up Manila.
