PLOT : Olivetti is an iconic Italian company with a keen eye for design, for all its products. At the helm was visionary Adriano Olivetti. In February 1960, the company was thrown into turmoil with Olivetti’s passing. Faced with the potential end of a legacy, audiences will get an insight into how Olivetti management revived the company; through the 60s to the 80s, the film reveals archival material showcasing Olivetti's architectural feats across borders.
Davide Maffei. is an Italian writer and director. Living and working in Modena, many of Maffei’s films centre around themes of design in different industrial companies. Maffei’s first film was Villaggio Eni, A pleasant stay in the future (2013). The film follows two men who build an architectural social experiment to create a tourist spot for oil company’s workers and their families. In 2014 Maffei directed Tellurica: Racconti dal cratere, which recounts the stories of 10 people that experienced the Emilia earthquakes in 2012. Maffie is the co-founder of Gilson Productions focused on short films and commercial productions. His most recent documentaries Prospettiva Olivetti and Paradigma Olivetti (2020), follow the history of the iconic Italian industrial company.
