PLOT : In 1971, during the height of Brazil’s military dictatorship, the Paiva family — Rubens, Eunice, and their five children — lived a joyful, open life in a beachside home in Rio de Janeiro. Their house is always open for all their friends and filled with warmth and hope despite the political tension beyond its walls. One day, Rubens, a former politician, is taken by authorities for questioning and never returns, and Eunice is left to pick up the pieces. With quiet strength and determination, she must reinvent herself and chart a new path for her family, navigating the dangers of a repressive regime while holding on to love, resilience, and a sense of justice.
