PLOT : It is the early 1900s and Eduardo, Peppino and Titina live in Naples with their mother, Luisa De Filippo. Born the illegitimate children of famous actor and playwright Eduardo Scarpetta, the three De Filippo’s are nevertheless immersed in the world of theatre. When their father dies and nothing of his estate is left to them, their raw and innate talent allows them to carry on Scarpetta’s legacy regardless. They decide to open their own theatre company, Compagnia del Teatro Umoristico I De Filippo, facing many challenges along the way.

Sergio Rubini. was born in Grumo Appula, Italy in 1959 but quickly moved to Rome to study acting. He made hisbreak in 1985 in the Orsini film Figlio mio infinitamente caro. A few years later he appeared in Fellini's 1987 film Intervista. In 1989/90, Rubini made his directorial debut with the film La stazione, for which he was awarded both The Nastro d'Argento(Silver Ribbon) Award and the David di Donatello Award for Best Debut film. He has acted in famous Hollywood films No Country for Old Menand The Talented Mister Ripley.
