PLOT : Felice is a twenty-year-old from a working-class neighbourhood who ends up borrowing money from a mafia loan shark to buy a grand piano. With the help of Noemi, a girl he meets in a library, he begins performing in the squares of Campania for locals and tourists alike. After a clash with boys from his neighbourhood, his piano is violently destroyed, leaving him exposed and in debt. As he is chased by loan sharks, Felice takes refuge in the back of a church and is unexpectedly pushed toward the altar during a funeral. There, he delivers a heartfelt, improvised eulogy for a stranger, speaking with surprising clarity and emotion. From that moment on, he becomes known as the “funeral boy,” the Orator.
