Patrick Dempsey and Ornella Muti headline ICFF’s most ambitious edition yet, as the Lavazza IncluCity Festival brings a month of special events, premieres and open-air cinema back to Toronto with AI art, fashion showcases, live music, food, and soccer.
TORONTO, May 28, 2026 — Two of international cinema’s most beloved and enduring icons are coming to Toronto this summer. Patrick Dempsey and Ornella Muti will join the Lavazza IncluCity Festival, presented by Rogers, as the headline guests of ICFF’s 15th Anniversary edition, a landmark celebration running from June 25 to July 19, 2026, at Toronto’s Distillery Historic District.
Patrick Dempsey joins ICFF as Guest of Honour at this year’s Closing Gala. Award–winning and Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated actor Patrick Dempsey is one of the industry’s most respected talents, with a wide-ranging and multifaceted career built over decades. Most recently he can be seen in his new hit series Memory of a Killer. His iconic role in Grey’s Anatomy is beloved worldwide, while fans have followed his career from classics such as Can’t Buy Me Love and Enchanted to Ferrari and Dexter: Original Sin. Off-screen he has claimed podium finishes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 24 Hours of Daytona with his own Dempsey-Proton Racing team. Patrick established The Dempsey Center, the foundation is a non-profit based in Maine with virtual locations throughout the world and provides free, personalised support for individuals and families impacted by cancer.

Ornella Muti is going to be the protagonist of Closing festivities at the Distillery, with a dedicated conversation on July 19th. As one of Italy’s most celebrated actresses of all times, whose decades-long career has made her a defining presence in both European and global cinema, she appears in films such as Flash Gordon, To Rome with Love, and Oscar. Ornella was awarded the Special David at the 2025 David di Donatello Awards in recognition of her outstanding career and her impact as a cultural icon. She is also the winner of a \Best Actress award at the Venice Film Festival, as well as multiple Italian Golden Globes.
Ornella will join the Festival for the Canadian premiere of “Brunello: The Gracious Visionary” by Giuseppe Tornatore. A closing moment that surely embodies the festival’s overarching vision of elegance, timeless excellence and the enduring dialogue between cinema, fashion and art.
Hosted by ICFF, the festival represents one of the most dynamic and eclectic cultural events in Canada, transforming the cobblestone streets of Toronto’s iconic Distillery District into an energy-driven outdoor village where world-class cinema, live entertainment, visual arts and culinary experiences collide on the festival’s signature couches.
“This year’s defining themes are energy, community, and innovation,” said Cristiano de Florentiis, Executive Director of ICFF. “With a mandate that has always focused on evolving and creating new experiences, we are tremendously proud to present a festival that once again goes above and beyond the classic cinema experience featuring a new 40-foot digital screen and a never-before-seen infinity mirror tower in the heart of the main square.”
Launching as part of the festival programming is the trailblazing AI immersive art exhibition AiRTIFICIAL VISIONS, presented by Rogers: a visionary 30-day experience exploring the intersection of human creativity, artificial intelligence, and the future of visual storytelling. Hosted at Illuminarium Toronto in the Distillery District from June 25th to July 25th, in partnership with Toronto Metropolitan University, the exhibition will bring together a remarkable roster of internationally acclaimed AI artists, inviting audiences to step inside the future of art itself.
Another extraordinary exhibit “Fashion Frames” comes directly from Rome, featuring a fashion and cinema showcase of costumes from some of the most iconic films of Italy’s Golden Age. Presented by the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Toronto, this showcase celebrates the strong connection between fashion and cinema, and brings together iconic pieces from Italy’s most prestigious designers.
Film premieres from over 20 countries and renowned international guests will grace the festival stages with representation from Argentina, Malta, Japan, Brazil, Cuba, South Korea, Nigeria, Germany, and many others. This year the festival is also excited to present a special Focus on China through films and the participation of two talented AI artists from the country, along with Opening Night special guest Yaxi Liu, lead actress of The Forbidden City by Gabriele Mainetti.
Once again, Italian cinema takes centre stage from the start, thanks to a powerhouse partnership with Italian Screens. The showcase is promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual of the Ministry of Culture — DGCA-MiC, coordinated by Cinecittà and conceived by Roberto Stabile, Head of the International Department at Cinecittà.
“We are proud to bring ITALIAN SCREENS to ICFF, sharing the best of contemporary Italian cinema with Canadian audiences while also highlighting the tax incentives, distribution opportunities, and co-production support that Italy has to offer,” said Roberto Stabile. “A heartfelt thank you to the entire festival team for their invaluable support in making this possible. We hope audiences will connect with this selection of films and be moved by the stories they tell.”
The festival is proudly supported by the Sistema Italia through the Embassy of Italy of Ottawa, Italian Consulates in Toronto and Montreal, and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Toronto.
Kicking off the 2026 programming is a celebration of the beautiful game, bringing soccer fever to the Distillery District and echoing the excitement building across Toronto as the city prepares to welcome the world’s biggest sporting event. Starting June 11, ICFF will host the soccer watch parties, transforming Spirit Theatre into a fan zone unlike anything audiences have seen before, right in the heart of the Distillery District.
And the excitement doesn’t stop there. Soccer fans and cinema lovers alike are invited to discover the festival’s Soccer Film Series, presented by Ferrero — a special lineup featuring both unmissable new releases such as Voy! Voy! Voy! (Egypt), A Summer in Italy: World Cup 1990 (Germany), and La Casaca de Dios (Argentina), as well as beloved crowd-favourite classics like Bend It Like Beckham, Next Goal Wins, and Victory.
One of the special guests of the Soccer Series will be Antonio Cabrini, Italian football icon and celebrated member of the legendary 1982 Italian national team that lifted the highly coveted golden trophy. Cabrini will be in Toronto for the screening of Il viaggio degli eroi, the electrifying documentary that follows the extraordinary, against-all-odds mission of one of football’s greatest ever sides.
On that same iconic stage, the live music series TO The Beat, presented by OLG, returns once again with an expanded lineup of 40+ concerts and performances throughout the festival. And, there’s even more to discover this year, as ICFF unveils two new exhibitions running throughout the festival.
Among the standout attractions, Ferrero Foosball Park will bring a brand-new interactive play area to the heart of the festival, where visitors can jump into a friendly foosball match during afternoons in the Distillery District or gather to watch the pros in action. The park will be open to the public in the afternoons for anyone looking to test their foosball skills, and will also host the Canadian Foosball Tournament, organized by the Toronto Foosball Club, with high-energy table-top competition taking over the festival grounds from July 10–12, 2026.
Building on the success and impact of previous editions, ICFF is inviting festivalgoers and tourists alike to explore a growing lineup of activations, pop-ups, and unforgettable experiences woven throughout every corner of the Distillery District, alongside the many special panels and programs taking place throughout the festival month.
INDUSTRY DAYS:
The 2026 ICFF Industry Days will feature four panels: Dressing the Story: The Art of Costume on Screen, In Conversation With: Italy ’82: From Victory to Identity, Shooting the World: Co-productions and the Art of Filming Abroad, and AI in Film & New Media: Creative, Legal & Financial Frameworks.
Together, these conversations will explore costume design, sports documentary storytelling, international production, and the impact of AI on the industry. The program brings diverse perspectives into one space to engage with the future of screen storytelling.
The festival will also pull back the curtain on some of the industry’s most recognized creative fields, as well as the major changes currently shaping the world of film and television. One of the featured panels, dedicated to the art of costume design, will highlight the transformative power of costume in film and television by bringing together five of the most celebrated costume designers working in screen today: Luis Sequeira (The Shape of Water), Hanna Puley (Heated Rivalry), Courtney Mitchell (Mile End Kicks), Leslie Kavanagh (The Handmaid’s Tale), and Michael Ground (The Boys).
ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN:
The ICFF Architettura & Design program returns this year with new conversations exploring creativity, design, and art.
Celebrating a new generation of architecture that blends classical influences with contemporary design, the program welcomes architect Maria Claudia Clemente, co-founder of Labics and winner of the international competition for the redevelopment of the Colosseum and Rome’s Imperial Fora — one of the most significant contemporary interventions within a UNESCO World Heritage context. Ms. Clemente will lead a keynote at the Canadian Stage focusing on her work in Rome, and offering a compelling perspective on how contemporary design can engage with historically complex sites through precision, restraint, and cultural responsibility.
The program will also feature the documentary Storia di una leggenda: Pininfarina, exploring the legacy of one of Italy’s most iconic design houses. The screening will be accompanied by a panel discussion on automotive design and some of the most iconic works by Pininfarina.
The series concludes with a special event for Fugetaboutit, a short documentary on internationally acclaimed Montreal street artist Stikki Peaches and his three-year journey to carve pop-culture sculptures from single blocks of Carrara marble.
