ICFF Youth – 2018
ICFF Youth 2018: a festival dedicated to ages 8 – 18 We are delighted to be well into the planning stages of ICFF Youth, a part of our festival devoted to exclusive film selections for the 8-18 age range. You all may recall that we first established this part of our festival as ICFF Junior, which was our way of creating a festival specifically for the younger generations. As we enter into the 6th edition, we’d like to reiterate that these films are hand selected for all youth. ICFF Youth will take place from April 13-19, 2018, with daily screenings at TIFF Bell Lightbox, Cineplex Cinemas in Vaughan, Cineplex Yorkdale and Silver City Richmond Hill. What make our youth festival unique is that it provides educators with an alternative teaching strategy, encompassing various learning styles. Working in partnership with the Toronto Catholic District School Board and the York Catholic District School Board, ICFF Youth uses film as a medium to learn media literacy. All film screenings are preceded by a presentation, where students are exposed to a lecture on the most important elements of creating a feature film. After the screening, students are encouraged to evaluate the film using the elements they learned. ICFF Youth is excited to announce our all-star film lineup. Stay tuned to find out what films will be screened at ICFF Youth 2018. You can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram: @ICFFCanada, email us at: email@example.com or call us at: 416.551.4615.
