Renzo Martinelli is an Italian screenwriter, director and producer. After graduating with a degree in foreign languages in Milan, he went on to produce various music videos for such notable names as Van Halen, Lucio Dalla, Umberto Tozzi and Franco Battiato. He went on to collaborate on various television shows. A producer and author who knows the art of risk, he began his career in 1994 as a director with Sarahsarà, and continued to confront burning past and present social issues in films including Porzûs(1997) Vajont – La diga del disonore (2001), Piazza delle Cinque Lune (2003), Il mercante di pierre (2006)and Barbarossa (2009). Ustica is his latest feature film.
